• Decorating for Easter

    Is it just me, or after this long cold winter is everybody ready to bring a little more color in the world. I can’t wait for spring to get here and bring with it green leaves budding and flowers sprouting. It’s getting to be time to start planning Easter brunch and all the decorations that come along with it. Easter decor are all about the flowers, the greens, the pastels, all those colors we missed when the world was covered in white.  

  • A Simple Autumn Tablescape

    Autumn is my favorite season; I love the colors, the weather, and seeing the amazing cycle of nature. Last Friday, my husband and I went apple picking in the Virginia countryside, a few hours from DC. We picked some pink lady apples for my Apple Rose Pie (I’ll post this recipe very soon) and also bought some beautiful pumpkin gourds and huge fall mums, which I trimmed a little and spread in a few mini vases around our dinner table.

  • Red & White Christmas Party

    We returned from our cousin’s lovely wedding in Northern California and had just a few days to put together a last minute Christmas dinner for us and a few friends who were in town.
